Guest guest
Congratulations for your new Vegetarian-Vegan lifestyle. I have been a Vegetarian for 25 + years. Years ago when the children were young we ate mostly fish and poultry and every kind of fruit and veggie. I cooked from scratch all of their favorite foods. I know this may sound simplistic but when children are hungry they will eat what is placed in front of them. Here is something I did and it worked. When you are preparing a meal and everyone smells food cooking, they are hungry and they come in to ask " what's cooking, we're hungry " ..Well I would set out a dish of fresh veggies or fruit on the table and say " it will be a while before the food is done but you go ahead and have some of those veggies or fruit " . Worked every time. I too munched on raw veggies or fruit while cooking. Helps to keep the weight at a normal level. Don't make a big deal out of eating food. It is fun. Just put the food on the table , what you expect your children to eat, they will eat. If they complain make one simple statement " this is what we are having for our meal " . And then change the subject , tell some fun food stories and before you know it the food will be eaten. Deanna in Colorado
