Guest guest Posted July 1, 2007 Report Share Posted July 1, 2007 Homemade Turtles Makes 30 servings 1/2 pound plain caramel candies 2 tablespoons whipping cream 1-1/2 cups pecan pieces 6 ounces chocolate chips, melted In the top half of a double boiler, combine caramel candies and whipping cream. Cook over simmering water, stirring often, until melted. Remove pan of caramel from heat and let cool 10 minutes. Line two baking sheets with foil and lightly grease the foil. Mound pecans by the tablespoonful onto the greased foil, forming about 30 mounds. Leave about 1 inch of space between. Spoon quarter-size dollops of melted caramel onto pecans pieces. Let stand until firm, about 30 minutes.
