Guest guest
I wrote the date on canned goods and bags of pasta and if I haven't used them within a certain time frame I make sure to take to the soup kitchen in my area, I know they will be cooked up immediately. Sometimes I buy ingredients for certain recipes to try and can't locate the recipe.LOL I'm sure we all do that one. Actually, most grocery stores *do* require their stockers to check dates and rotate stock (FIFO), as selling out-of-date merchandise could possibly result in the store being sued if someone gets sick. However, most stores pay stockers minimum wage and make them work the worst hours, so whether or not it gets done properly is another story. Customers also mess up displays, so even if it was done properly, you might never know it. Checking the dates for yourself is definitely the best way to go.
