Sun Tea Jars /Bacteria

The problem was caused by the jar itself. The spigot never emptied

completely and could not be cleaned. The new sun tea jars have no

spigot.

I use a recycled glass gallon jug. Even the small mouth jars with

handles work if you carefully remove the tea bags. I always cover the

jar while it is basking in the sun (which is a natural bacteria

killer), to keep out critters and dust.

I use these glass jars over and over for many months until I accidently

chip one. I don't use tap clorinated-floridated (is that a word?) LOL

for tea. I refill my glass jugs at the health food market for 25 cents

per gallon.

Once I left a filled jug with water in the car in the winter . It froze

and when I picked it up the bottom fell out and so did a frozen block

of ice.

Someone recently 'explained' to me the difference between a jug, jar

and bottle. I've already forgotten. But you guys know what I mean..LOL
