Does anyone know the secret of cooking quinoa? I was told to soak it overnight

to remove the bitter taste but then when I cooked it turned to mush. My salad is

ruined :(

Hi Steph,

I love quinoa. I think I can help you out. Instead of letting it soak over

night, put it

in a strainer and rub the quinoa between your hands under cold running water. Do

that for

about 5-7 minutes. That should remove the bitterness without sprouting your

grains ...

which is what soaking over night does.

Bring 2 cups of water to boil, add 1 cup quinoa and 1/2 tsp sea salt. Turn the

element

down to low and let cook covered for about 20 minutes (check it after 15 minutes

- my

stove is funny and cooking time vary from other people's stoves). I've never had

any luck

making it in the microwave, so I can't help you there.

Good luck and let me know how it turns out :)

Cheers!

Denise G.
