For a number of years, the dishwasher manufacturers have not made a dishwasher that you can only use the " dry only " or " Plate Warmer " control on. They have done away with it. I used to use that feature to sterilize jars for jams and jellies, etc. They would get so hot you could not even handle them. It was great and kept me from having to put them in boiling water to get them sterilized and hot enough. Back to cake and fish in the dishwasher. Unless you want to wash it first, I don't think it would work if your dishwasher is newer than ten or twenty years old. I tried to find one that did have that feature several times, and was told that the government will not approve them anymore since people were using the plate warmer feature for too many other things, thereby wasting energy. Just like the commodes. They won't let them hold enough water so that you don't waste it. So now you flush two or three times. Where is the savings?
