My favorite fig recipe.

 

FORBIDDEN FIGS

 

3 firm, ripe figs

1 tbsp honey

1/3 cup mascarpone (Italian deli has it)

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp cardamom

 

Heat broiler.

Wash and dry figs, cut them in half lengthwise. Lay

them in

a shallow,

buttered baking dish or pan, cut side up.

Drizzle the honey over the figs with a warm spoon.

Place figs under the broiler until they soften and

heat

through.

Serve figs warm, topped with mascarpone and a dusting

of cinnamon and cardamom.
