Orange Drop Cookies

 

3 c. flour

1 T. baking powder

3/4 tsp. salt

3/4 c. shortening

1 1/4 c. sugar

2 well-beaten eggs

2/3 c. orange juice

 

Cream shortening, add sugar gradually and continue

beating. Add eggs and blend thoroughly. Add flour,

baking powder and salt; add orange juice. Mix well and

chill for an hour or more. Drop by teaspoonsful on

greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes at

400º. When cool, melt 1 T. butter; add 2 c. powdered

sugar and just enough orange juice to make a smooth

consistency for icing.
