Tamarillo: too costly and I don't think it's that

flavorful.

Kiwano: that thing is so wrong! It's pretty on the

outside, ugly on the inside and tastes awful to me.

Black apricots are usually flavorful when ripe, chop

and add to a nice flavorful lentil stew, yep you did

read that.LOL

Prickly pear is called a tuna or tunas where I live.

You need to wear your garden gloves to peel it. When

soft and ripe the flesh isdie amongst the teeny seeds

is delicious. I like to squueze the pulp and add the

juice to weak iced tea.

The sound of stars grinding and chafing,

of fountains clotted with blazing gems....Music is

planetary fire, an irreducible which is all

sufficient, it is the slate-writing of the Gods.

Thanks Donna! I found a vegan blog that had a recipe for Kiwano, Banana &

Pineapple Sorbet which I think I will make with my Kiwano. As to whether I

buy it again...that's up in the air. I did read that the seeds are edible

as in a cucumber so that was nice to know....I also learned if you scoop the

whole inside into a sieve or colander that will seed it for you!

You are scaring me with the Lentil & Apricots LOL I am assuming ours are

ripe but about the only flavor I'm getting is tart skin with bland (not bad

tasting) insides. Are they pretty soft to begin with?
