Guest guest
I belong to a medieval re-enactment group and my local group does pot lucks before the monthly business meetings, and a number of groups are now having potlucks in place of full feasts after events because of the economy. One of the great things I have found is that most " feast-o-crats " ask people to put a recipe with the dish on the table. Not only does that cover the " OOh that was yummy how do I make it? " factor, it also covers the " What is in it? " aspect. I don't know if it is just something I am noticing but I seem to find more people who are going vegetarian/vegan/wheat free/carb free/sugar free/dairy free/etc. On top of that I am noticing a lot more people are speaking out about their food allergies. I have one friend who is allergic to onions...she can't be around when they are being cut, she can't breath the air if they are cooking and of course she can't eat them. Ever since I started including the recipe for that group I do it for all potlucks I go to. Makes my life much simpler and gets more yummy food out in the world! -- " Any change, any loss, does not make us victims. Others can shake you, surprise you, disappoint you, but they can't prevent you from acting, from taking the situation you're presented with and moving on. No matter where you are in life, no matter what your situation, you can always do something. You always have a choice and the choice can be power.
