Being A Vegetarian In Colorado/Old West

I live in cow and sheep country. Steak houses are well known here and

can be found on every corner..LOL. However I can go to almost any

restaurant in my state including some tiny mountain towns and find a

selection of Vegetarian menus. If by chance there is not a Vegetarian

menu I ask if a certain item can be prepared without meat. They always

say " yes " . I have not been 'questioned' about my lifestyle choice for

many years. Young people think it trendy-cool and many adults find it

interesting. No one even asks " why " anymore. I just don't make a big

deal out of it and no one pays attention. My friends and family know

what I eat because I like to cook and often take a main dish, desert,

etc. to gatherings. I try to make traditional recipes and no one ever

seems to notice that they do not contain meat.

It is so easy now to be a Vegetarian now compared to 30 years ago.

Also I can find almost every organic food item that I use in my local

supermarket.

Life is way too good.
