Hawaiian Toast with Custard Sauce 2 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1 tablespoon honey 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon vanilla 1 tablespoon butter, softened 6 slices bread 3/4 cup finely crushed corn flakes 6 pineapple slices, drained 2 oranges, peeled, sliced Custard Sauce, recipe below Combine first 5 ingredients in bowl, beating slightly. Spread butter over 10x15x1-inch baking dish. Dip bread in egg mixture; drain. Coat with crumbs. Place in buttered dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes; turn. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until crisp. Top each slice of toast with pineapple and orange slices and 1/2 cup Custard Sauce. Custard Sauce; 1/3 cup honey 2 tablespoons flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cup milk 3 eggs 1 teaspoon grated orange rind Combine first 3 ingredients in bowl, blending well. Stir in milk, mixing well. Cook over low heat until smooth and thick, stirring constantly. Beat eggs and orange rind in small bowl. Stir a small amount of hot mixture into eggs. Add eggs to hot mixture, stirring constantly.
