Guest guest
I have a recipe this week that calls for hot chili oil I can't find it. Does anyone know of a substitute. Guest guest
From what I recall it's fairly simple to make your own. Take approximately one cup of extra virgin olive oil, and place it in a pan, add one to two teaspoons of chili flakes, depending on your own tastes, and slowly heat. You're going to cook it for a little while and don't bring it to a boil, just simmer it slowly for about 15 or 20 minutes, keep a very close eye on it as you don't want to burn the oil or the chili flakes. When it's done simply strain the oil after it's cooled down for a little while into a container and discard the chili flakes. Dennis
