Guest guest
I have joined this site because I have recently learned that I am allergic to practically everything I eat. I need help to change my diet!!! I am allergic to tomatoes, grapes, and dairy products which further limits my available choices in recipes. Most of the vegan recipes I found on other websites contained these ingredients. I am also anemic so I need a diet high in iron. How do I combine my vegetables to get the maximum benefit for the vitamins and minerals etc... that I need to maintain a healthy lifestyle? I know that when food is put in the right combination the nutrients from each is absorbed by the body more efficiently. But I don't know what the right combinations are. Can someone please help me???? Also now that I'm switching to a meat free dairy free diet how many different kinds of fruits and vegetables should I be eating per day. It used to be three vegetables and two fruits a day---Does that stay the same or increase? Where do I get calcium and protein? Are these nutrients even necessary? Looking for a deal? Guest guest
I think the new recommendation for everyone is 9 servings of fruits and veggies per day. Can you eat rice, barely and other grains or do you have wheat allergies? Quinoa is a grain that is high in protein. Oatmeal is a source of iron. Try fortified orange juice or soy milk for good fast nutrient sources...yes, calcium and protein are NECESSARY! Without Calcium you will be in danger of weak bones and muscle dysfunction. Protein is essential for your body to heal and repair itself. If you are working through allergies, I'd try to eat very simple foods until you get things figured out. Brown rice, broccoli, fruits. Quinoa, black beans, and corn salad. Whole grain pasta, tossed with spinach, chickpeas and olive oil and garlic...just some thoughts, maybe check out some vegan or macrobiotic cookbooks and modify recipes as needed. , showshannah cerefin <showshannah30 wrote: > > I have joined this site because I have recently learned that I am allergic to practically everything I eat.
