Guest guest
Thanks for your feedback. I already do pretty well with the healthy foods part. Maybe it's portion size, slowing metabolism, not sure! What is Eat to Live? Is it a book? Heart disease runs in my family and I would like to feel in shape (and lose 15 pounds)before starting the clinical part of nursing school (long days on my feet). Well, I am interested in any weight loss wisdom anyone has, though I know fewer calories in , more calories exercised is the most basic wisdom there is! , Sharon Zakhour <sharon.zakhour wrote: > > Hi Melissa, > > I'm not Sue, but this is an interesting point you've raised. Guest guest
Hi Melissa, Yes, Eat to Live is a book by Joel Fuhrman, MD. He also has a website at http://www.drfuhrman.com. Studies have shown that heart attacks generally don't occur when cholesterol is below 150. That's why I have that as a personal target. :-) You'd think that being vegan would automatically drop my cholesterol down that far, but evidently, because I also have hypothyroid issues, that can raise cholesterol or at least keep it elevated. I'm now trying to get my thyroid levels controlled by medication, but it's definitely a tricky process. In a couple weeks I'm slated to have my thyroid levels re-checked and in July my cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Take care! Sharon Melissa wrote: > Thanks for your feedback.
