Diane,

That sounds wonderful. I'll have to try that. What a great combo. I love the

idea of the hummus and the Fri-Chik together..... Are those the kalamata

olives you are talking about.........? Yummmm I love those.

Thanks for a great meal idea.......

Re: Black Beans - Christie

These stacks sound like my lunch bowls last week - they were yummy!

This week is greek week - a layer of shredded spinach, brown rice,

hummus, 2 fri-chik patties sliced up and those little oil-cured black

olives. yum.

Peace,

Diane

Diane,

You are very welcome. I'm so glad you gave it a try.. We love it. I'm going

to try it with some hummus and your mixture soon.

My daughter breaded(with Italian bread crumbs) and fried some Loma Linda Tender

Bits today... Oh were they ever good. Give those a try.

Sometimes I bake that Fri-Chik, just taking it out of the can, leaving it moist

from the broth and baking on a sprayed baking sheet. Yumm

Love it in a rice casserole too and so many things.

Oh with those black beans I also love to make black bean salsa. My recipe is in

the files.

Well Diane you have given me the encouragement to go ahead and try a mixture of

olives from the olive bar at the grocery store. I keep meaning to, but somehow

haven't yet. They all look so good. Olives are a big favorite of mine.

Hi Judy,

The fri-chik & the hummus do taste good together - thanks for turning

me on to the Fri-Chik :)

I love kalamatas too but these are different. The label at the olive

bar says they are Moroccan. They are dry and very small and shriveled

and don't come in any brine. They have an almost metallic aftertaste.

I love the olive bar at the grocery store - I can try little amounts

to see how I like them though I've yet to find an olive I don't like :)

Peace,

Diane

LOL did those olives set your mouth on fire? I love those olives that are

stuffed with either garlic or jalopeno's.... Yummmmm.

Aren't you sweet. Our daughters are both quite good cooks. They are 13 and 16.

We enjoy being in the Kitchen together, but sometimes they cook the entire meal

and that is a treat. They love to find new recipes to try.

I'm glad I discovered balsamic vinegar, thanks to this group. I had never

tried it before. I had used Rice wine vinegar, red wine vinegar, apple cider

vinegar, and white vinegar, but never the balsamic vinegar before. I like it

too...... Thanks to all of you that suggested it. I still have yet to try it

on some strawberries as someone said they had done here.

I used it yesterday to marinate the diced sweet onions that I put in some potato

salad and some black bean salad that I made. Yummmmm.

Have fun eating those olives Diane...... ; > )))

Hi Judy,

I also drizzled some balsamic vinegar over the greek bowls and that

added a lot of flavor! I think next week will also be greek week. I

get on food kicks & eat the same thing for lunch for many days.

I'll have to try the breaded & fried technique like your daughter did

- that sounds yummy. She's lucky, learning from such a creative cook :)

DH brought home some REALLY spicy olives last time he hit the olive

bar lol.

Peace,

Diane
