How funny--Last week, I tried making vanilla (soy) ice cream because I

was itching to try using a vanilla bean that I'd gotten as a freebie

when I ordered my ginormous bottle of vanilla extract. The result

wasn't horrible, mainly because I'd added big pieces of fresh

strawberries, and to my way of thinking there's very little that can

melt around a strawberry without being at least somewhat tasty, but it

was light years away from the old fashioned vanilla ice cream taste I

was hoping for and had an icky chalkiness. On the other hand, Marsha's

recipe is delicious and so much less fussy--I hope you enjoy it as much

as we did, Christie! It's soooo good!

Peace,

Maureen
