What a pleasant surprise, especially with the cost of organic produce and celery in particular, we hate to waste and this really does extend the storage life of this veggie from before of about a week and it going soft, to well over a week and just as crisp as the day we put it in the frig... Guest guest Posted May 2, 2007 Report Share Posted May 2, 2007 Last week my daughter wrapped a carton of mushrooms with some foil and boy was I surprised yesterday, when I found them and they were so white and fresh and not brown and slimy at all........... I have never used foil to cover things with, so this was a very nice thing to discover. A great storage success that I have had is to store veggies in airtight " lock and lock " containers like this http://tinyurl.com/37fv8s lined with paper kitchen towel. I've success with carrots, courgettes (zucchini), celery, string beans, broccoli and mushrooms. All lasted and stayed fresh for much longer than usual.
