Guest guest
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but Silk Soymilk (http://www.silksoymilk.com <http://www.silksoymilk.com/> ) is running a promotion where you can enter a contest to win some " green " items to do your house. They've also got a calculator where you can calculate your carbon footprint on the earth . I was thrilled when I got a halo, meaning that my son and I are pretty environmentally friendly as far as driving, electricity usage and natural gas usage go! If you buy a Silk product with a green cap on it, you can enter the UPC code and earn points, I think it's for the contest. There are lots of different tips you can get about ways to reduce your carbon footprint also. And. last, but certainly not least is a link to a letter where you can ask your congressman to support H.R. 197, a bill that provides a tax credit for electricity generated from wind turbines and other renewable energy sources. While it isn't something I can do right now, if I ever get to build my own home, I'm going as " green " as possible - logs, the complete solar grid, a well, and hopefully even geothermic energy if possible. Here's the link to the page for the letter to the congressman: http://www.silksoymilk.com/GreenCap/GetInvolved.aspx I'm passing this to people I think would be interested, and please pass it along to anyone else you know who might be interested in helping learn ways to save the environment. Thanks so much!
