Guest guest
I'm allergic to milk also. Only milk - cheese, yogurt and ice cream (in reasonable amounts) don't bother me. The doctor diagnosed me finally after years of trouble when I was pregnant with my daughter - even on Phenergan, I still threw up every time I drank milk in any form. When my son was seeing the allergist, he told me that sometimes it's the milk that's the problem, but that some change occurs when they're made into cheese and yogurt. It may not happen with ice cream, but who can live with no ice cream in their lives? On Behalf Of Liudwih Franksdottir Tuesday, April 24, 2007 2:37 PM Re: Re: introduction and help with 17 mo old. There is lactaid for lactose intolerance. Also soy milk is an acceptable alternative after a year old. From experience as a daycare provider I have seen children who spt up regular milk who were able to still eat cheese and yogurt. I was told it has to do with the bacteria needed to culture them. Also butter can be used in small amounts. There are also avacados, nuts (safe after 1 year), nut butters ect. Hope that helps Liudwih On 4/24/07, Ilse Knecht <iknecht wrote: > > Right, that is why I am concerned about my son seeming to have an > intolerance to milk.
