Guest guest
I rinse my rice to remove some of the excess starch. I love the basmati rice and I've not had problems with it sticking together. Add a little oil to your rice, if this doesn't work for you and it may help. I just cook mine in a pot on the stove. I had no idea, that Arkasas was such a rice producer. Didn't actually realize we had rice patties here in the United States. Then we were traveling thru your state and we saw them...... I couldn't take my eyes off of them, as we drove by them on the interstate. It is really pretty neat to see. Judy - Penny Tuesday, April 24, 2007 8:29 AM Question about rice cookers I see a lot of you have rice cookers. I don't have one and we almost always eat ordinary long grain white rice (it's a major crop in Arkansas so I kind of feel like I'm supporting my state). But I have a lot of problems with rice when I cook it. It clumps up, and it's often sticky. Would a rice cooker stop that? I don't know anyone in my " real " life who has one and I hate to spend money on something that will be a lot like my little food processor - it will sit in the cabinet and just gather dust, or be borrowed by my daughter until I go to her house to retrieve it! We eat a lot of stir-fries so we use a lot of rice. I'd love to be able to have leftover rice that isn't all clumped together. Any advice? Guest guest
It is cool to see the rice paddies isn't it? And we also grow soybeans and my hometown is famous for their peaches. Unfortunately the weird weather has killed this year's peach crop so they're going to have to import peaches for the Johnson County Peach Festival this year.
