Guest guest
hi! thanks for the responses to the cold cuts and tofu, etc. And i love the recipes posted! Especially with edamame which i *love*. I guess the 'cold cuts' can be eaten raw or heated up i guess. We have a small health food store with a small cafe/kitchen - and a few years ago the chef Ken Bergeron worked there and made an awesome- looking 'corned b**f'.......it looked SO real!!! He left shortly after but i bought his cookbook and the recipe is in there. Someday i will make it - but it is a 'consuming' recipe!!! - time-wise and ingredient-wise. But if it tasted 20% as good as the one he made it would be worth it! I still need help with meal planning, unless there is a veggie group for that, too. Maybe when people list recipes they might put what they like to eat with it? I don't know why i am so lame at menu planning. That's really sad! - and i hate to admit it. One BIG question i have is cheese. I have a hard time getting cheese with microbial/no animal rennet. Long trip to the health store. I found a list on one of the veg resource guides, but when i contacted some companies they told me they sometimes will use either one (animal or microbial) and sometimes mix it up! And they won't (for some reason) put on the label if it is animal/microbial. I know some vegetarians don't mind the rennet, but i do. Now another Big Question - any chain pizza restaurants anyone go to for good pizza? Vegetarian or Vegan? I heard Chuckie Cheese doesn't use animal rennet but then again Pizza Hut claimed the same thing with their pizza......and MCD's with their fries..... ............now if only i could get some Gardenburger around here... :-( thanks all! - i think this group will be a big help and an inspiration. skye
Guest guest
I order a Veggie Lover's pizza from Pizza Hut without the cheese. It's surprising how really good they are, even without cheese!
