Guest guest
Hi! I am Kristy and I am 32 years old. I am a wife to a great guy abd a mom to 2 boys (Chris is 10, Joe is 7-1/2) I decided to try to lose weight the veggie way because I am just tired of meat....LOL I say that because I have lived on chicken and turley (2oz at each meal) for the past 2 years. I had lost 120 pounds and then back in december I broke my elbow (required surgery and was in a brace for 6 weeks). I also found out recently after a couple of months of intense physical therapy that I will not get my full extension back in that arm due to the elbow (apparently elbows do not like being immobilized for long periods of time)At any rate - I was bad and ate for comfort. Here I am with 30 ounds to lose and a lot of toning to do and I am limited on strength training because of the impaired arm. I am ready for a fresh start - a change. I have been trying to learn more about eating this way, and I confess that I am still a mite confused on how to get the proper protein-carb ratio for a meal. I would still like to stick to my 6wbmo plan, just do it veggie style. I eat 5-6 times a day - 2oz of protein and 1/2c fruit for breakfast and morning snack (unless I exercise and then I eat a whole cup of fruit) for lunch and dinner I eat 2 oz protein, 1/2 cup carb and 1 to 2 cups veggies (unless it's in the " free " veggie category, then I eat as much as I want) and for afternoon snack it's 2oz protein and 1/2 cup carb (unless i exercide, then i up the carb to 1 cup). Evening snack is optional, and it's 1/2 cup fruit (usually 1/2 grapefruit is what I eat) I do not do dairy, added sodium, or a lot of fats (oil, etc...) and I drink 100oz water daily. Is it possible for me to still be able to do this is the veggie way? Could someone help learn me? LOL - i have been reading and printing stuff out, and still am not clear on how to get the proper amount of protein in a meal. THanks! And I am so glad to be here!
