Do you have to rinse the quinoa flakes too? Thanks for your reminder on the

tips for using this grain.

quinoa question Tracy

Quinoa is fantastic. Yes, you will always need to

rinse it thoroughly in a mesh strainer. The grains

are small so a regular colander won't work.

This is a natural bitter coating so insects and birds

don't eat the grain as it grows. Not harmful but it

sure is bitter. I like to roast the quinoa before I

cook it, this will add a nice nutty flavor. After you

rinse you can let it sit and toss it a little with a

spoon. Roast it in a dry skillet until it browns a

bit, has a good roasted aromatic scent and pops, this

won't take long.

Do you have many black grains in yours? I rarely see

them, if so I pick them out.

Enjoy your recipe.

You get up every morning

From your alarm clock's warning

Take the 8:15 into the city

There's a whistle up above

And people pushin', people shovin'

And the girls who try to look pretty

And if your train's on time

You can get to work by nine

And start your slaving job to get your pay

Quinoa flakes??? I just found the grain...had no idea it comes in flakes. What

do you do with them? Are they similar to nutritional flakes? Thanks ahead of

time
