Veronica,

 

It is cyanide, not arsenic. Other members of the Rosaceae family

(plums, apricots, peaches, etc) also have cyanide in the seeds. Here

is a good link for more info on things that are supposedly toxic to

dogs (although I think it depends a lot on dosage):
