Guest guest
Hello all. First, a BIG thank you to those who answered my question and made recommendations (a month ago, I think) in regards to the Salton yogurt maker. It works great and the yogurt is quite tasty. I wish I had started making yogurt at home sooner. Question one - Anybody have the SoyQuick SoyMilk maker? Do you like it? Is it durable? How does the milk taste? Can you make it flavored, vanilla for example? Question two - Freezing tofu. I usually can get the Naysoya(?) brand. Do I drain and press it first, and then drain / press again after thawing? Thanks for your help. RitaJ
Guest guest
Hi Rita, I have a different brand soy milk maker, but I've only heard positive things about SoyQuick. I hope someone who has a SoyQuick machine will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think flavoring is always added once the milk has cooled down, outside of the machine. I mean you can play with the consistency and taste by making the milk from different combinations of beans, grains and nuts, but the recipes I've seen always talk about adding a flavor like vanilla extract at the end, which is nice if you're making it for more than one person or more than one reason since you don't have to make a whole batch to have it flavored your favorite way. We've been making vanilla flavored soy/almond milk for drinking, and plain for cooking and baking whenever we make a (6-cup) batch. Sorry my answer's so long! Can you tell this is my favorite new toy? ;^) Peace, Maureen ritaj540 wrote: > Question one - Anybody have the SoyQuick SoyMilk maker? Do you like it? Is it durable? How > does the milk taste?
