Guest guest
BASIL ROLLS: My favorite ethnic food is from Thailand or Vietnam. Not sure of its origin but I have found it occasionally in Thai restaurants. It looks like uncooked spring rolls and is called " Basil Rolls. " The wrapper is a special rice paper that is dipped in warm water and then wrapped tightly around a delicately cut group of veggies and diced chicken/shrimp or tofu. The rolls are NOT fried so they taste very fresh. I order it with tofu and dip the roll in plum sauce or peanut sauce. As I remember it, there is cabbage, carrots, salad onions and other veggies inside ... always with a sprinkling of basil, hence the name " Basil Rolls. " If anyone has a good recipe for this delicacy, please send it my way! -- Nancy ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
