Freezing tofu

One of my clients gave me some firm tofu which specifically says Do Not

Freeze. This is rather a blow, partly because she gave me 3 packs and

partly because I prefer the texture of frozen and defrosted tofu. Do

you think it would be ok to cook it up in a chilli and then freeze it?

It has a short date on it and there is no way I will manage to eat it

all before the date runs out.
