question for everyone comfort dishes

I call my dishes and kitchen " Hippie-Chic " I have to

drink a huge glass of water each evening from my

Fleetwood Mack glass and it's a wonder it hasn't

broken after all these years, I have a black and gold

scalloped Japanese with hand painted flowers soup bowl

I just adore, then there's my Dark Side of the

Moon-Pink Floyd and Rolling Stones coffee mugs, and I

use my Coca Cola spork (between a spoon and a fork)

along with an octagon black dinner plate with a calla

lily in the center and don't forget my tie-dyed apron

I wear while I cook.

I have a collection of totally and intentionally mismatched mugs that I have

collected over the last couple years from thrifrt stores and garage sales.

Almost anyone can come to my house for coffee or tea and find a mug they just

love. My daughter came to visit and mysteriously, about half of my collection

ended up in another state. Now I have two partial collections to fill out. I

only buy mugs that call my by name and speak sweatly to me.

I am sure I could find one that even caster oil would taste good out of.

My comfort dishes are figural teapots. My husband bought a Norcrest Dancing Cat

couple pot when I was in the hospital because it reminded him of how we are,

always hugging and together. That one never leaves my desk and brightens even

the hardest days and nights for me. I love having my teapots around me so the

living room has teapots everywhere. Well, everywhere that my dolls aren't and

that the living cats will permit.
