Guest guest
Hi Mary, My youngest developed hives about 6 months for no discernible reason (at least not initially). We finally realized it was because her dad was remodeling his house and the dust from the demolition was toxic to her. After removing her as much as possible from that environment, and finally the dust was cleaned up, she slowly cleared up. It took several weeks for her to be entirely done with them, but it happened eventually. Like you, we thought at first it to be a food allergy, but there had been absolutely no change to her diet or laundry detergent or anything like that. But it was definitely her environment. And the healing process was weird. The initial hives went away, but they came back about a week later. This happened less and less and they finally went away for good. Her dad didn't have an air purifier, but it sure couldn't hurt. Good luck, Sharon

I have had the hives off and on for a few years now. The first time was severe, but now it is just a nuisance. They seem to pop up when I get too warm or sometimes just around where the elastic is in clothing, like the tops of socks, sleeve cuffs, etc. I have had allergy testing and they were not triggered by a food allergy, nor did I get stung, nor do I have a lot of stress. I don't really know why I have them, but I am wondering if anyone knows of a food/herb/vitamin type cure for them. Maybe I am lacking something rather than consuming something bad for me. Or maybe some probiotics would help? I have been vegetarian (also very little dairy) since Nov. and I had hoped that would help, but it has made no difference. There has got to be some sort of natural cure. Any ideas? Thanks! We won't tell. Get more on shows you hate to love (and love to hate): TV's Guilty Pleasures list. Guest guest
Mary: Is there any way that it could be the detergent you are using for your laundry? Or your soap/perfume/moisturizer? I am very sensitive to fragrances and certain chemicals, so this is what I thought of. Good luck, Jen - Mary Gibson Monday, March 26, 2007 5:22 PM Hives off topic Please forgive me if this is a little off-topic, but I'm hoping someone will have some good information.
