Guest guest
Isn't that true? The non-vegetarians will always eat up our food at gatherings and potlucks. It's alwqys positive when I see that. Guest guest
LOL!! That used to make me crazy - seems like carnivores would head for the vegetarian foods first. But now several of them have become vegetarian. Pat _____ On Behalf Of Donnalilacflower Saturday, March 24, 2007 9:25 PM Kat vegetarian food Isn't that true? Guest guest
You bet. I have converted so many meat eaters by just taken a vegetarian dish to work, making it for a sick friend, signing up for all the department potlucks, etc. You never have to force it on anyone. They love our food even though many of them have to make vegetarian jokes, huh? Donna --- Pat Carson <a0003539 wrote: > LOL!! Guest guest
But... What's frustrating is when I bring a vegetarian dish to the work potluck and I've made sure that (because everyone has different food issues) it doesn't contain pork (not a problem), black pepper, oregano, nuts/seeds, or yeast, and then I step up to the table to find that even the broccoli casserole has chicken in it. Even the mashed potatoes have bacon bits. Even the pasta has beef. Even the pasta salad has seafood. Even the potato salad reeks of chicken broth. Shouldn't there be a rule about this sort of thing? And bless the guy who mans the barbeque grill. He always makes sure he cooks my bocca burger first and makes sure I get one, while people line up to get the other three out of the box. I don't mind sharing, and in fact have been known to bring tofu dogs just for people to try, but should I really have to bring the veggie burgers AND another dish to pass. Management buys the hamburger patties and buns, but won't spring for the bocca burgers. Sorry. Done ranting. -- Kat_Doyle (@earthlink.net)
Guest guest
That's about usual. The meat eaters don't really know what to bring for us. Most think chicken is fine or that we can just remove the pepperoni off the pizza slice or pull the ham out of the salad. They really don't do this to me rude, it's just the way. Once they become involved with vegetarianism they understand it a little better. I think they are willing to eat out food because it's tasty and not the usual same old thing that appears on the potluck or buffet table time after time. They inhale hummus when I take it. They love baked oita chips and will let the fritos and sour cream dip sit. Donna --- Katherine Doyle <kat_doyle wrote: > But...
