Guest guest
FOTCLOL. Chanda, I'm brushing off my pants. Aggressive about your cardamom aren't you. Thanks for a good laugh Chanda. I'll move off next time at the last minute, when you hips are swinging. ( ; > ))) Judy - PuterWitch Wednesday, March 14, 2007 6:19 PM cardamom flavor and scent Judy & Katie & Donna no no no <shoves Judy aside with a hip butt> cardamom is not like cinnamon, even though it goes well with cinnamon. It is a flavor and scent all it's own. I love the smell so much, in the winter time I would add it to my potpourri pot, but the scent was so good it was driving me crazy, I wanted to eat the potpourri, LOL. <helps Judy up> <sorry> hugs, Chanda - wwjd Wednesday, March 14, 2007 9:09 AM Re: Re: Lovin' Spoonfuls (cookie recipe) Donna I'm not Donna, but it most closely has the flavor of cinnamon or anise, but it has a spicy uniquiness all it's own. I think you would enjoy having this spice on your copious spice shelf. LOL I have a shelf like that too. Donna (cardamom mama) shares lots of recipes with cardamom in it. It is one of her favorite spices. : > )) Enjoy, Judy - Katie Mangan Wednesday, March 14, 2007 7:02 AM Re: Lovin' Spoonfuls (cookie recipe) Donna Hi Donna, The recipe sounds great but its prompted me to ask something I've always wondered about, what does cardamom taste like. Until recently I'd never seen it in recipes, lately it keeps popping up. Do I need to add this spice to my already copious spice shelf or is it one I could skip and no one would be the wiser? Guest guest
There's some great info about cardamom on Wikipedia. There are two kinds: green and black. I've used the black cardamom in savory dishes and it is wonderful. bb Every day is Be Kind to Animals Day.
