Guest guest Posted March 11, 2007 Report Share Posted March 11, 2007 Kiwi Walnut Bread 2 cups sifted flour 1 cup granulated sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups peeled, cooked kiwi, drained and chopped 3/4 cup chopped walnuts 1 egg, beaten 1 cup butter or margarine, melted 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Sift flour with sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt into large bowl. Add kiwi and nuts and mix well. Add egg, butter and vanilla extract. Stir until just blended. Turn into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour or until done. Cool in pan 5 minutes, then turn out on rack to complete cooling. Serve in thin slices.
