Guest guest Posted March 7, 2007 Report Share Posted March 7, 2007 * Exported from MasterCook * Chickpeas In Tea Recipe By : Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 cans chickpeas -- drained 1 pinch asafoetida (optional) 2 large onions -- chopped 3 cloves garlic -- chopped 4 teaspoons tinned tomatoes 2 teaspoons finely chopped root ginger 300 milliliters tea 1 green chilli -- cut into fine rounds – up to 2 to taste 2 teaspoons cumin 1 teaspoon garam masala 2 teaspoons coriander 1 tablespoon lemon juice Sizzle asafoetida in oil for a second. Add onions, fry till brown, add garlic till golden. Add tomatoes, ginger, chickpeas and other ingredients. Bring to the boil then simmer for 10 minutes. Serve with rice.
