That cant be the same stuff that is brown and crumbles from morning star you find in the freezer section. Does anyone know what it is? and how do you use it? Steph Need Mail bonding? Guest guest Posted March 3, 2007 Report Share Posted March 3, 2007 Thats tvp in its original form. I think the Morningstar kind is already cooked and prepackaged. I use the original form, you ask about, and yes it is yellow and dry. I add boiling water to however much im using, let the tvp soak up the water (sits for about 10-20 mins) then put it with whatever im preparing. I use it in my spagetti sauce and other sauces for the most part. I also use it in my stir frys. Its good.
