Guest guest Posted March 1, 2007 Report Share Posted March 1, 2007 Vegetarian/Vegan (my experiement for the day) Oriental Okra 2 cups Okra( Either whole or sliced) 1 8 oz. can Water Chestnuts(drain and reserve liquid) 1 8 0z. can Bamboo Shoots(drain and reserve liquid) 1 Tablespoon Tamari 1 Tablespoon dried veggie mix or 3 boullion cubes. 1 Tablespoon corn starch 1/2-1 teaspoon sugar 1/4 teaspoon sea salt 0ptional: Sprinkle of red crushed chili peppers. Directions: Sauce Add Tamari plus reserved liquid to equal 1/2 cup Stir in corn starch. Add sugar and salt. Set aside Simmer Okra in a small amount of reserved liquid with added bullion or dried veggie mix. ( I used 1 tab. Rapunzel brand Vegetable Broth) until tender. Add Water Chestnuts and Bamboo Shoots.
