Julie Herbed Noodles 8 ounces wide egg noodles 3 tablespoons unsalted butter 2 tablespoons minced shallots 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 teaspoon freeze-dried chives 1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley freshly ground white or black pepper to taste Cook the noodles in salted water according to the package directions, until al dente. Drain. Melt the butter over medium heat in a large saucepan. Saute the shallots until wilted, about 5 minutes. Toss in the noodles, herbs, and pepper. Taste and adjust the seasonings.
