Herbed Lentil Potato Burgers

 

1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped

1/2 cup celery, chopped

1/4 cup water

2 cups lentils, cooked, drained, mashed

2 cups potato, mashed

1 cup whole-wheat bread crumbs

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram

1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary

1/8 teaspoon black pepper, ground

 

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Saute the onion and

celery in the water about 10 minutes.

Combine in a bowl with the remaining ingredients and

mix well.

Form into patties and place on a nonstick baking

sheet.

Bake for 20 minutes, then turn and bake for an

additional 20 minutes.

Serve hot on toasted whole wheat burger buns.

Oh Thank you for posting this recipe.

I wanted to eat a veggie type burger, but I'm on an

anti-inflammatory diet right now. This has all of the

ingredients that I can eat. I can substitute the

bread crumbs with crumbs from Ezekiel bread crumbs and

make me a burger.
