Beany Cheezy (soy) Dip

Vegetarian/Vegan

(My friday morning experiment)

 

1 can (16 oz) Vegetarian refried beans

1 pint stewed tomatoes(I used my own canned tomatoes which equal apx. 2

cups)

1 teas.garlic powder

1 teas.onion powder

1 teas.paprika

**1/2 to 1 teas. green pepper sauce( I used Mc.IlhennyCo.Tabasco

Jalapeno sauce)

3 slices packaged soy 'cheese'.(I used Melissa's Soy Slices)

Optional : Salt and pepper to taste

 

** You judge the 'heat' 1/2 teas. leaves a slight 'hotness'

 

Directions:

Combine refried beans, Soy cheese, spices, and simmer until well

blended and cheese melts. Add tomatoes and green pepper sauce and

continue simmering for apx. 10 min.

Serve hot or cold as a dip

 

PS .also works good as a topping for rice
