For those who have the time to do so, here is a rather serious action

item from a animal advocacy list I belong to:

[AnimalAdvocacy] Take Action to Stop Cruel Stun

Gun " Experiments " on Pigs

Help Stop Cruel Stun Gun Tests on Pigs

Another sick Mengele-like experiment concocted by people who should

be spending their lives in prisons for the criminally insane. Plese

write.

A University of Wisconsin-Madison researcher soon plans to use

electric voltage and illegal drugs on pigs in the name of science and

human safety! To justify the use of Taser guns by the police, Dr.

John Webster plans to subject pigs in an unethical study to prove his

hypothesis that Taser stun guns are safe to use on people and that it

is illegal drugs that have killed those stunned with Tasers.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Please contact University of Wisconsin-Madison Chancellor John D.

Wiley and politely urge him to put an immediate end to the Mengele-

like " research " and return the grant to the Department of Justice.

Remember to include your name and address and please change some of

the words.

RE: Please Stop Cruel & Frivolous Stun Gun Experiments on Pigs

Dear Chancellor Wiley and Attorney General Gonzales:

Professor John Webster, of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, plans

to study whether stun guns alone can kill pigs - or whether other

medical factors must be at play - as part of an effort to understand

why 70 people have died in North America since 2001 after being

shocked by Tasers.

Using a $500,000 taxpayer-funded grant provided by the U.S.

Department of Justice, Dr. Webster will attach electrodes directly to

the pigs' skin and implant catheters near their hearts to measure the

voltage of the Taser shocks. He will also use a " super-TASER "

device to induce heart arrhythmia and " apply overdoses of cocaine " to

the pigs.

I ask you to put an immediate halt to these cruel and unnecessary

experiments. It is immoral to treat these highly intelligent and

emotional fellow beings for such depraved experiments. How we treat

those most helpless among us is how we will be judged as a society.

Sincerely,

----
