Guest guest
If others want to be done with this topic...OK. But I wanted to share what I've been reading. There are tons of books on nutrition on the market and there is no reason for you to believe this one I know...but I've been reading Optimal Nutrition. This books is not anti vegan and is pro supplementation. Some of the things I have learned: *RDA's are the minimum we need to keep disease at bay. They are not set for optimal levels *RDA's are created by groups of scientists from around the world...many cannot agree to what is the correct amount of any nutrients *Tests have shown that even people with "balanced" diets don't come close to getting enough RDA's. It is the author's opinion that you can't eat enough food to do so. *79 new supplement takers were monitored sometime in the 1980's. After 6 months there were significant gains in more energy, more clear thinking, more resistance to disease, denser bones and emotional stability. And there are little tests in the book to see if you might be deficient in any one vitamin or mineral. Kristina
