Guest guest
Of course, I agree with you there! I would never advocate shopping for fun for someone in debt...that's foolish. And I am concerned about personal debt for many in this country...it's a worry. I guess my take on it is this: I don't hate people who shop. I don't think they are necessarily "bad" people. If someone shops for distraction or "fun" I have compassion for them instead of having disdain for them. Maybe they need better ways of coping with life...r fullfilling themselves. I also think that there are behaviors in society that are MUCH WORSE than shopping. Yes, shopping produces a lot of trash...and I've always been concerned about that...but it's lower on my list of concerns of what is wrong with the world. I can name 10 things that are much more disturbing than the fact that people shop for things they don't absolutely need. Why is consumer Debt so high ?Yes, we need to help other people. However, getting into debt is not the way to do it.http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/11/04/60minutes/main653794.shtmlVijay
