Guest guest
Here's my Mom's bread pudding recipe. Use a good think white bread or a very light wheat bread. Soy milk works but if you leave the eggs out you won't have the nice custard that forms around the edges and I doubt it will work. If you don't have cardamom it will still be delicious. Rose's Bread Pudding 1/2 cup raisins 5 slices of good thick white bread Butter or Marg. 3/4 cup sugar 3 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups milk or soy milk cinnamon & cardamom Butter a one quart baking dish (I use a round deep CorningWare style) Sprinkle bottom of dish with raisins. Spread bread with butter and cut bread into 1 1/2-inch wide strips. Place bread strips on top of raisins. With a wire whisk beat eggs, sugar, vanilla and milk together. Pour mixture over bread and raisins. Sprinkle with cinnamon and cardamom. Place the baking dish in a pan of hot water and bake in a 350 degree preheated over for 1 hour to 1 hr and 15 minutes. Serve hot or cold from the fridge. The seed is in bloom, will it meet an early doom or survive in a tranquil sea? Does it face an early end, will it find a real friend, should it be called humanity? Will creation of man bring death by his hand or will life be his destiny? The Seed - Rare earth ______________________________\ ____ Have a burning question?
