Guest guest
You're welcome. Nuts last indefinitely in the freezer if stored sealed in a freezer type Ziploc bag or the ones they come from the store in(I just use a twist tie to reclose those with, when just using a few out of the bag). When I find them on sale or get large containers from Sam's Club., I stock up. We love all kinds of nuts. Most recently our great find, was pine nuts in large Ziploc bags at Sam's Club for only a small fraction of the cost they are other places. We use those all the time, so this was great. We were afraid they might not have them the next time we went in, so I bought like 10 bags. They are in my freezer. One thing to remember when you freeze them, is that you really need to toast them in a dry frying pan, to remove a bit of moisture and restore the great flavor to the nuts. You can also just lay them out on a dinner plate and put in microwave for a couple of minutes, depending on how many you are trying to toast, and like magic they toast. It is so easy. I learned that trick from a produce stand that was making dry roasted peanuts that way, for the local High School Ball team games, to sell at their consession stands. By the way, I never thought to freeze ground almonds & always end up hurrying to find another use for them when I grind too many, so THANK YOU!! Peace, Maureen wwjd wrote: > Thanks Maureen. You have me intrigued. I'll have to try it. I think I have some ground almonds in the freezer too. > Judy >
