Guest guest Posted February 8, 2007 Report Share Posted February 8, 2007 One of my favorite treats to take to potlucks Walnut Caramel Triangles 2 c. flour 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1 c. cold margarine or butter 1 can condensed milk 1/2 c. evaporated milk or whipping cream 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. walnuts, chopped 1/2 c. chocolate chips 1 tbsp. shortening Mix flour, powdered sugar, and cold margarine until crumbly. Pat into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until light brown around edges. Mix condensed milk, milk, and vanilla in heavy saucepan. Over medium high heat, bring to a boil. Continue cooking on medium heat until thick - about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in walnuts. Spread mixture over baked crust. Bake for 20 minutes more until lightly browned. Cool. Melt chocolate chips and shortening together. Drizzle over top of cooled bars. Cut into triangles. Cool. Store at room temperature. ______________________________\ ____ Now that's room service!
