Guest guest
Skillet Seared Edamame 1 16-ounce bag frozen edamame in the pod salt To Boil water in a saucepan large enough to hold edamame. Add frozen edamame in the pod. When the water returns to a boil, boil for 3 minutes. Drain and pat completely dry. To Steam Edamame: Place edamame in a steamer basket in a saucepan with a small amount of water. Bring water to a boil. Cover and steam for 3 minutes. Drain and pat completely dry. Meanwhile, heat a large, heavy skillet or wok over high heat until very hot. Add enough canola oil to coat. Just before the oil starts to smoke, add the drained and dried partially cooked edamame. Shake pan or stir rapidly for 20 to 30 seconds to sear the outside. Add salt while stirring (or after, if that's easier). Remove edamame to a serving dish, and place another dish on the side for the empty pods. How to eat edamame: Hold one end with your fingers, and suck the beans out of the other end, pressing down slightly with your teeth to coax the beans out and get a bit of the salt. Discard empty pods. Makes 2 to 4 servings. Make free worldwide PC-to-PC calls. Try the new Canada Messenger with Voice
