Guest guest
Thanks for the article. Very interesting reading. However, we as vegetarians are also responsable for environmental degradation. I was reading the February issue of National Geographic and they were talking about the destruction of the Amazon rainforest in order to grow soya beans. My question is this; what can we do to prevent this 'slaughter'? I know that the US is the largest producer or soya, so one way would be to ensure that one only purchases soya produced in the US, and ask our shops not to stock soya produced in Brazil. What other methods could we use? Don't get soaked. Take a quick peak at the forecast with the Search weather shortcut.
Guest guest
I haven't researched this, but I suspect most of the soybeans produced in Brazil are not going for human consumption, but for animal feed. Same with most of the corn produced in the world. Also the ocean life is mined for animal feed. Bryan , Douglas Anderson <djandersonza wrote: > > Thanks for the article. Most of the soy in the world goes to the latter and is produced with higer pesticide levels because more poisons are allowed to be fed to animals than are allowed in human food. My guess is the soy produced there is not fit for human consumption as most produced in the U.S. is.
