Those blood oranges are very good. Florida is about the only place I can find

them.

Your sweet breads always sound so good.

 

So do you like the pink or white grapefruit the best. I love them both. I

buy the canned pick sectioned grapefruits for putting into fruit salads and use

the fresh to cut in half, section with serated knife and enjoy with a spoon.

I have 2. Blood oranges and I grate the zest and add

the juice to a sweetbread.

 

Grapefruit and I soak the segments in Chambord and eat

them out of a martini glass dahlink!

Citrus fruits just make me happy, there is not one I do not like....I

am blessed (some might disagree) to live in southern California, so we

are planting several in the back yeard! already have a small

tangerine, 2 key (or mexican) limes, soon to have blood oranges and

mineolas. We have an orange tree as well but it is both bitter and

sour, with lots of seeds, it is good for sauces though. Perhaps we

should graft it? I want grapefruits too. The red ones are my

favorite, however, they need the Texan heat to do well, here in SoCal

only the white ones do well, so white it is. I'd rather have white

grapefruits than a Texas summer any year....

 

As far as recipes, it would be a tie between the classic Hemingway

mojito and our newly developed mineola tangelo flan. One has alcohol

and the other is not vegan, but I'd be happy to post them latter.
