I usually add cumin and coriander to chickpea recipes and some

freshly squeezed lemon. Have you tried any of these herb and spice

blends - Mrs Dash or Spike? I don't know if they have salt in them. I

have a harissa spice mill which adds flavour to the blandest of meals

but I'm in the UK, so I don't know what you have available over

there. I usually cook chickpeas and beans in a sauce.
