At Donna's suggestion, I toasted quinoa with last night's dinner. Then

I toasted some millet, and cooked 'em both together. Wow! The result

was like a faintly buttery, faintly nutty couscous, without using butter

or nuts. Yum! Donna, thanks so much--I think I'll be doing a lot of

this :-)

Peace,

Maureen

Completely changes the flavor when you toast them,

happy you enjoyed your meal. I love to experiment in

the kitchen. 95% of the time the results are awesome.

Never be afraid to try new I deas that pop into your

head.

Shall I post the 5% disasters.............LOL

Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen

Warm my mind near your gentle stove

Turn me out and I'll wander baby

Stumblin' in the neon groves

My partner and I agreed that it was our favorite part of that meal! I

love to try new things--That's one of the reasons I'm so thrilled about

this list :-)))

Peace,

Maureen

PS My most memorable kitchen disaster was actually from a recipe! A

couple of years after my mom died, I had a craving for her lemon

meringue pie, which had this lovely, tart filling and toasted meringue

crust. I got out her recipe file, followed the directions to a T, and

ended up with a big, unsalvageable pie plate full of scary looking

slime. :-o
